Barred L
A breathy L, said with air but no voice. Hold Shift for the capital Ł.
Key P
Dene language computer keyboard
A computer keyboard made for typing Dene. FN Keys develops, manufactures and sells it, and the company is 100% Indigenous owned and operated.
The FN Keys Dene keyboard was developed in collaboration with Elder Carol Estralshenen and Common Weal Community Arts.

Dene has sounds that the English alphabet does not cover. FN Keys puts each one on a key, so you type it directly instead of hunting through a character chart. Here is what they are and where they live.

Dene languages are spoken across a large part of northern Canada. A keyboard made for them puts the characters on the keys. You press the key and the character appears.
Dene communities write their languages in different ways. If you are not sure which layout fits your community, email support@fnkeys.ca before you order and we will help you choose.
